A cerimónia de entrega dos Emmys 2016, prémio da Academia de Artes e Ciências Televisivas dos EUA, teve lugar ontem à noite em Los Angeles. A Guerra dos Tronos foi o grande vencedor da noite e tornou-se a série mais premiada de sempre. Nesta edição ganhou 12 estatuetas – ao longo das seis temporadas, A Guerra dos Tronos ganhou 38 estatuetas, uma a mais que a antiga recordista da secção de Série Dramática, Frasier. Tatiana Maslany e Rami Malek, das séries Orphan Black e Mr. Robot, tiveram finalmente o reconhecimento pelo seu trabalho ao ganharem o Emmy de Melhor Atriz e Ator em Série Dramática. Nas comédias Transparent e Veep continuaram invictos. O monólogo de abertura do Jimmy Kimmel foi perspicaz e apontou farpas a várias direcções, incluindo Donald Trump.
